Sleep
Sleep indulges her mind
She lies having drinking neither bitter nor sweet wine
Arguing with unwanted sleep
Staying awake, she wanted to keep
Her body senses the queer air
Her closet remains open causing her to stare
She shuts her eyes, the bed squeaks
She opens them again, the closet door creaks
There! Peering through the murk
Crimson red eyes causing her to jerk
Looking through her very soul,
No pupils there to behold
Disappearing with a flash
Her heart is beating in a dash
“A dark mist appeared, look up!
It’s here!”
Her brain seemed to say to her ear.
In front of her it came to be
A monster too terrible for the eye to see.
